Buttery Biscuits
Buttery Biscuits

Super Easy and Quick Recipe. Great for Breakfast or Holiday Menus.

This recipe yields 4 to 6 biscuits, depending on the size.

Ingredients:

240 grams of all-purpose flour

5 grams of sugar (1 teaspoon)

15 grams of baking powder (1 tablespoon)

5 grams of salt (1 teaspoon)

5 grams of black pepper (1 teaspoon)

226 grams of unsalted butter (cubed and kept cold, approximately 2 sticks)

180 milliliters of milk (cold, approximately ¾ cup)

Directions:

1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Cut the butter into the mixture with a fork until well combined; it should look flaky.

2. Make a well in the flour mixture and slowly add the milk into the middle. Knead the dough with your fingers and add more milk if necessary. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

3. Roll out the dough onto a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness (approximately 2 cm). Cut with a small biscuit cutter.

4. Butter the bottom of a skillet and place the biscuits in the pan. Place in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Tips:

1. When adding the butter to the dry ingredients, it is important not to use your hands, as your body temperature will melt the butter. We want the butter to stay in chunks.

2. Adding all sorts of herbs is a plus in baked goods.

3. When shaping the biscuits, a mug or a glass cup can also be used if you don’t have a biscuit cutter.

Enjoy!
