Pizza Dough

Pizza Dough

Pizza dough is one of those things that can’t be simpler yet it makes one fill like a superhero when it comes to baking.

I personally like thin crust pizza, the thinnest the better, but every now and then there are recipes that call for a deep crust pizza.

This recipe will yield 4 individual size pizzas.

Ingredients:

1 cup warm water

1 ½ tablespoon of active dry yeast

1 teaspoon sugar

2 ½ tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

Directions:

1. In a large bowl, combine: the water, yeast, sugar, and 1 tablespoon oil and stir to combine. Let sit until the mixture is foamy, about 5 minutes.

2. Add 1 1/2 cups of the flour and the salt, mixing by hand until it is all incorporated and the mixture is smooth. Add the rest of the flour gradually, mixing the dough after each addition, until it is incorporated but the dough is still sticky.

3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth. This will take around 5 to 7 minutes.

4. Oil a large mixing bowl with remaining olive oil and place the dough. Cover the bowl with a wet rag and set in in a warm place, until it doubles its size that’s around 2 hours.

5. Knead and stretch the dough onto a surface until desired thickness.

Enjoy!
